What is the SyMAX^®-i?

Marathon’s SyMAX^®-i motor is a permanent magnet motor solution designed for indoor and outdoor environments. These motors can be installed as drop-in replacements for induction motors in both vertical shaft-up and horizontal orientations.

PMAC

A permanent magnet motor offers a simple design with powerful magnets creating a constant flux in the air gap of the motor, eliminating the need for the rotor windings and brushes normally used in synchronous motors. By combining the highly accurate performance of a synchronous motor into the robust design of a standard induction motor, the PMAC energizes directly on the stator by way of a variable speed drive. Now, what does that mean for customers? You’ll see reduced energy losses and maximization of output opportunities.

Thanks to this permanent magnet motor technology, the SyMAX^®-i is capable of delivering high-efficiency outputs over a wide range of RPMs.

INTEGRATED DRIVE

Marathon’s integrated drive solution, intelliDrive, elevates the SyMAX^®-i motor from being like any other permanent magnet motor and created greater control of the motor’s constant torque to deliver optimum outputs.

PERFORMANCE

In addition to heightened performance and control, permanent magnet motors by nature operate at a noticeably reduced noise level thanks to internal magnets and the elimination of motor wirings.
