In the past, customer was using a competitor’s shaft mount in this application. Two years ago, the customer had to replace this unit after excessive oil was leaking from the input and output shafts. The customer
also noticed metal filings in the oil, indicating that the internal gears were also wearing. At that time, a local repair facility provided a rebuilt shaft mount for approximately half the cost of a new unit. After only 8 months, the customer noticed similar problems with the rebuilt shaft mount that was installed.
