What Is an Industrial Electric Motor?
An industrial electric motor is an electrical machine that converts energy into motion. Most electric motors operate through the interaction between the motor's magnetic field and electric current in a wire winding to generate force in the form of torque applied to the motor's shaft.
Industrial electric motors are used for a variety of purposes. You'll find industrial electric motors in applications for agriculture, marine, mining, oil and gas, food and beverage production, data centers, healthcare, prime and standby power, as well as in general industrial equipment. Industrial motors also excel in hazardous locations.
