3500 Dairy Chain
Author: Jon Utz
Transporting food carefully is a main priority in the food and beverage industry! Many dairies and bakeries needed to find a solution for handling their cases and racks, so Regal Rexnord took action and developed the industry's first #3500 double flex style chain. Decades of application experience has led to an evolution of the design for superior life. It's what you can't see that counts! Superior heat treatment of the chain components maximizes the service life of the chain.
The edges' inner links are selectively induction-hardened to resist sliding wear, which is the #1 reason these chains need to be replaced. See figure 1.
The edges and protruding side-face of the outer sidebars are selectively induction-hardened to resist sliding wear when running in both the straight sections and corner sections of guide tracks. See figure 2.
Pins are through-hardened and the surface is additionally circumferentially induction-hardened for maximum fatigue and wear life. The rivets are press fit into the sidebars. The outer sidebars are cupped at the ends to shield the rivet ends from wear.
Solid and split sprockets are available to ensure correct interaction with the Rex chain.
