Motor Minute^™ Technical Tip – Introducing the New Evergreen^® OM Motor

Hi, Chris from Regal Rexnord here with your Motor Minute technical tip. Helping you become an HVAC motor pro one minute at a time.

In this segment of Motor Minute I am going to talk about the new Evergreen^® OM motor.

The Evergreen^® OM motor is a universal, outdoor condensing fan motor designed to replace PSC motors.

The new Evergreen OM motor stock #6303S is capable of replacing 208-230 VAC, shaft down, 48 frame PSC motors rated:

• 1/3 - 1/12 Horsepower (HP)
• Clockwise (CW) and counterclockwise (CCW)
• 825 and 1075 RPM

Balancing versatility with simplicity has been and always will be our goal with Evergreen universal replacement motors. But the new Evergreen OM motor takes that to a whole new level.

Utilizing ECM technology means there is no capacitor required, and the new motor connects directly to the contactor just like the PSC motor it is designed to replace.

Out of the box the new Evergreen OM motor stock #6303S is pre-wired for counterclockwise rotation and 1075 RPM. Just connect the black and white wires to the load side of the contactor; the terminals are already installed on each wire.

Need 825 RPM? Simply disconnect the yellow wire as noted right on the harness. Need clockwise (CW) rotation? Simply disconnect the purple wires as noted right on the harness.

Built with constant speed technology, this motor automatically adjusts the horsepower level required to operate at the selected RPM. That means no programming to select rotation or RPM, and no complex wiring diagrams. That's what we call ECM Made Easy^™.

The new Evergreen OM motor is also built with a reduced end shield to end shield length and four mounting options to fit more PSC applications. It can be mounted with:

• Extended clamp bolts
• OEM mounting holes in the end shield
• OEM side mounting holes
• Belly band mount

All hardware is provided with the new Evergreen OM motor. It is also built with ball bearings, a 60⁰C ambient rating and the peace of mind of a two-year warranty* from the date of installation.
