Constant torque ECM indoor blower motors were introduced to the HVAC industry in 2006. Today these motors have displaced PSC motors as the most widely used indoor blower motor technology in new residential and light commercial HVAC systems today.

Constant torque ECM motors were introduced as simple 5 speed motors. However, today they are also built with multiple communication options similar to their constant airflow ECM cousins.
