United States Industry Overview
The packaging machinery manufacturing industry is primarily engaged in manufacturing machinery for packaging various products. For example, the industry manufactures machinery for wrapping, canning, bottling, and labelling for several food and beverage end markets. The industry also manufactures thermoform, blister, and skin packaging machinery for the pharmaceutical and medical device industries.
The three largest consumers of industry products are food and beverage manufacturers, household goods manufacturers, and pharmaceutical manufacturers, which combined make up for over two-third of industry sales.
